What you tell someone in words shrivels in comparison to the relationship you have with them – the history, the trust, the respect and the love between the two of you. In fact, when these latter things are in place, you can move through a day pretty successfully without saying anything. I learned this from my dog.
But if you must tell someone – anyone — what to do or how to do it, it’s not nearly so important as telling them why; not the analytical why, but the emotional why, the feeling behind your actions, your purpose, your vision for yourself and for those around you. THIS is the powerful message. Where are we going together?
